Dear Brothers & Sisters,
Soaking is nothing more then getting in the presence of God, learning to “be still and know that I am God” (Ps 46:10). The purpose is to seek Him, find out what He wants you to do or receive. It might be a healing; spiritual, mental or physical, a word of knowledge, prophetic word, or any other gift He wants manifested in you, but we must learn to hear Him, then obey and do whatever we’re told. The main key here is to allow the Holy Spirit to do WHATEVER He wants. This is how, many are spiritually connecting with God, one on one, to be refreshed and quickly get the answers they need.
Prepare: Based on the number of people that come;
1. Move furniture (if necessary) so people can lay on the floor, couch or comfortable chair.
2. Set a start time and if you have to stop at a certain time, an end time based on your needs. Know that God usually strengthens you in His joy – so work the next day is usually not a problem.
3. Have small pillows and lightweight blanket for each person to relax on or have them bring their own.
4. Fellowship before or after to get to know each other. It’s up to you, if you want to have drinks; coffee, tea, soft drinks and snacks. Be sure to bless and encourage new comers during fellowship.
5. Expect to see healings at every level. Families are healed and restored spiritually, bu a new instruction from God. This time will be considered a “revival” for those who attend regularly.
6. Music should be anointed. It can be done live or a video. Nothing is set in stone; it can be fast or slow, new or old and different each week. But keep it easy to listen to either by the words or instrumental based on what the group likes and the Spirit moves in.
Start with praying in a circle for 45 min to 1 hour. (Time isn’t the issue as much as the asking is, for with 2 or more – He’s already there.) This is basically to quiet your mind and focus on the Holy Spirit, our Teacher.
1. PRAY:
- Invite the Holy Spirit to come.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to do what HE wants
- Give the Holy Spirit free reign and liberty to do anything.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to especially bless the new comers to be saturated in His presence.
- Ask the Father to give direction as needed and perform physical, emotional and spiritual healing.
- Ask the Father not to allow any “religious spirit” to enter. Only allow those He wants to enter.
- Ask the Father to bring those who are hungry, desperate and really need to come in His presence.
- Release the people to BE who He’s called them to be.
- Release the people to FLOW in the ministry God has called them into.
- Release the people to be FREE and do what God wants them to do.
2. Get comfortable. Many are comfortable on the floor, couch or chair, whatever is comfortable for them.
3. Soaking Music: Play anointing music that worships the Lord (45 min – 1 hour est.). Music should be easy on the ear and softly played in the background, so the person dwells on what they hear, but allows the voice of God to be heard.
4. Pray For Each Person. 1 or more (trained) will go around the room and lightly touch those there, on the forehead, arm or feet. Pray softly in case the Holy Spirit has already started talking to them, you don’t want to interrupt what the Holy Spirit is doing.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to do what He wants to do in them tonight.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to minister to every need they have.
- Praise Him for the answer.
5. Soak. 45 min – 1 hour soak, as the Spirit leads. This is based on how the Spirit is moving.
As He comes, His glory and presence will minister to the people there.
6. Ending Soaking. The leader will begin to pray a blessing of what the Holy Spirit has done in the group tonight.
- Ask everyone what they received. When we speak of what we receive, we release it and no word will return void (Isa 55:11). It might be a vision, dream, song, word of knowledge, picture, poem or some other way. God can and will - manifest in many different ways.
- Keep a journal and write it done. You’ll be amazed the picture created in the group and how it flows into a common thread or piece of the puzzle.
- The leader may get a word of knowledge about what someone received. Ask the group who received it from God.
TIPS
1. Set up an appointment night with the Lord and keep it as you would a Doctor’s appointment.
2. God is so faithful, that when you make a place for Him – He always shows up. So be faithful to have the same night and time for soaking.
3. Keep records of what everyone receives. It’s exciting to go back and re-read and remember.
4. Give yourselves time to learn how to flow in the “gifts and talents” He’s given you. Through the church and fellowship, we’ve been given much, but not trained to hear and do what the Lord wants and has called us to do.
5. The purpose of soaking is to:
- Ask everyone what they received. When we speak of what we receive, we release it and no word will return void (Isa 55:11). It might be a vision, dream, song, word of knowledge, picture, poem or some other way. God can and will - manifest in many different ways.
- Keep a journal and write it done. You’ll be amazed the picture created in the group and how it flows into a common thread or piece of the puzzle.
- The leader may get a word of knowledge about what someone received. Ask the group who received it from God.
