Dear Brothers, Sisters, Prodigals and
Unsaved,
Can you believe, another year has gone
by? I hope 2019 is the same timing, but a
better New Year for ALL.
Our Lessons in Matthew will always have such
topics as; "How To" Live our Lives, Healings, Miracles, Deliverance
and more. Today we'll learn; and
see; what we need in, Pharisaism
Exposed, Seven WOES and Lament
Over Jerusalem .
So hang in there,
- Abba [God], wrote this all down, for His children to have the knowledge we
need to get through these crazy days. Thereby knowing the truth we're set-free.
That's why Jesus through His Word, reveals
to us what His Father [Abba] told Jesus to say and do, plus understand what
Heaven is like as it will be on earth E
V E N T U A L L Y so we can preach; live a Godly life and overcome the world
[enemy] today. The World, is the twerp's
[satan's] playground. Thankfully if you know your authority, he can't play with
you.
Verse NOTE:
ALL meanings are from Strong's Concordance, unless marked
otherwise.
23:1-12
Pharisaism Exposed:
·
[Matthew 23:1-3 NKJV] 1 "Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples,
2 saying: "The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. 3 "Therefore
whatever they tell you to observe, [that] observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and
do not do."
Since Jesus told the multitudes and His disciples, I believe He's talking directly to us today. Corruption or darkness are from the twerp, and he's been growing stronger throughout the world for the last 60-20 years. Thankfully people are waking up in most nations.
The scribes, are the writers of the Bible, who are changing what Abba has ordained. The Pharisees are the religious leaders, but many are not religious leaders of the synagogues or churches today. Because they preach/teach what they want you to believe. That's not what we've been told in His Word Jesus Himself, used the Word to counter act the corrupted words of the twerp.
[Matthew 4:4 NKJV] "But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.' "
Jesus had to correct him more than once. The miracles He did, were what Abba told Him to do.
[John 3:34-36 NKJV] 34 "For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. 35 "The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. 36 "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

[Matthew 23:15-18 NKJV] 15 "Woe to you, scribes
and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win
one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son
of hell as yourselves. 16 "Woe to you, blind guides, who say,
'Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the
gold of the temple, he is obliged [to perform it].' 17 "Fools and blind! For which is
greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold? 18 "And,
'Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the
gift that is on it, he is obliged [to perform it].' "
Look at the Strong's definitions and you'll
see why the WOE'S are there.
Notice several times, Jesus is saying WOE to; scribes, Pharisees and hypocrites. Got the idea they are in HOT WATER?
WOE means: a primary exclamation of grief; "woe":--alas, woe.
In other words, what a shame [alas], they are in trouble for what they've done!
Pharisees mean: "separated one" they're members of a religious group or party who frequently clashed with Jesus Christ over His interpretation of the Law.
Scribe means: 1121. A writer, i.e. (professionally) scribe or secretary:--scribe, town-clerk.
In the Bible, a man learned in the Mosaic law and in the sacred writings, an interpreter, teacher. Scribes examined the more difficult and subtle questions of the law; added to the Mosaic law decisions of various kinds thought to explain its meaning and scope, and did this to the detriment of religion.
Hypocrite means: 5259 /hypó, "under" and 2919 /krínō, "judge") – properly, a judging under, like a performer acting under a mask (i.e. a theater-actor); (figuratively) a two-faced person; a "hypocrite," whose profession does not match their practice.

23:37-39 /Lament Over Jerusalem :
· [Matthew 23:19-22 NKJV] 19 "Fools and
blind! For which is
greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift? 20 "Therefore he who
swears by the altar, swears by it and by all things on it. 21 "He who swears by
the temple, swears by it and by Him who dwells in it. 22 "And he who swears
by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits on it."
Lament means: to lament, mourner, wail. A primitive root; properly, to tear the hair and beat the breasts (as Orientals do in grief); generally to lament; by implication, to wail -- lament,
mourn(-er), wail.

It's the
fools and blind who should lament for what's coming because of their
ignorance. What's more important to
you? Does a gift, that's on an altar SANCTIFY
THE GIFT? Of course anything that is sanctified
is the BEST to have. When it is
acceptable to Abba - it's sanctified. We
Christians can offer anything to Abba and once we do, it belongs to Him, which
makes it His, so it's sanctified.
So do not swear by your parents; the Bible, a statue, a saint, heaven, or anything else.
[Matthew 5:36-37 NKJV] 36 "Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. 37 "But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.' For whatever is more than these is from the evil one."

· [Matthew 23:23-24 NKJV] 23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and
cummin, and have
neglected the weightier [matters] of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. 24 "Blind guides,
who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!"
Back in those days, they paid tithe on their produce. Both in what they sold and the best they saved to give Abba as their produce tithe. Remember Luke 6:38-39? If they gave a bad portion of their crop, the following year - they'd get the same, a bad crop [multiplied]! Luke 6:38-39 can be a blessing or a curse - Abba's rules, not mine.
Guide means: from 3598 and 2233; a conductor (literally or figuratively (teacher)):--guide, leader.
Gnat means: from kenteo (to prick); a point ("centre"), i.e. a sting (figuratively, poison) or goad (figuratively, divine impulse):--prick, sting.
Swallow means: from 2596 and 4095; to drink down, i.e. gulp entire (literally or figuratively):--devour, drown, swallow (up).
It is also twice as hard to prepare/remember a lie, then it would be to just tell the truth - giving Glory to Abba.
The Purpose of a Camel here: Is probably, referring to how hard it would be for them to change. The interpretation that seems to make sense is this. The "Eye of the Needle" was indeed a narrow gateway intoJerusalem . Since camels were heavily loaded with goods
and riders, they would need to be un-loaded in order to pass through. Therefore, the analogy is that a rich man
would have to similarly unload his material possessions in order to enter
heaven.
Their only hope is the REPENT. Just like Christians must do when we goof up. For Christians, it's not an issue of will you be forgiven in Heaven, but do you recognize your sin and turn away from it?

[Matthew 23:25-26 NKJV] 25 "Woe
to you, scribes and
Pharisees, hypocrites! For
you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of
extortion and self-indulgence."
This is the sixth woe. They were at great pains to appear virtuous, and to have a decent external conduct, while they neglected to beautify their inward man with true holiness, and a conformity to the divine goodness, or with the graces of God’s Holy Spirit, which in the sight of God are ornaments of great price, and render men dear and valuable to all who know what true religion and virtue are. But within they Namely, the cup [soul] and platter [their food]; 26 "Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also."
This is key, because what any human may think is good/bad they truly do not understand.

[Isaiah 64:6 NKJV] "But we are all like an unclean [thing], And all our righteousness [are] like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away."
So don't try and figure out, without the Holy Spirit teaching you, what Abba meant for you to understand and do. We're not smart enough in the natural. The Bible is a Spiritual Book - that's why it's been around for so many thousands of years. Evil generations have tried to destroy this teaching, it always survives what humans try to do.

[Matthew 23:27-32 NKJV] 27 "Woe
to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which
indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead [men's] bones
and all uncleanness. 28 "Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men,
but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. 29 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the
prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous, 30 "and say, 'If
we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with
them in the blood of the prophets.' 31 "Therefore you are witnesses against
yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. 32 "Fill up, then,
the measure of your fathers' [guilt]."
Those without Christ are nothing more than whitewashed tombs. There's only one place they'll go to - hell. Most actors, actresses or models, don't know the first thing about Jesus and His Salvation available to them. It's not that they've never heard, because Abba says:
[Hebrews 8:11 NKJV] "None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them."

Abba doesn't care about what color
you are, how you're shaped or anything to do with your outside. He searches the heart. Everyone
has heard of Salvation through Christ and has accepted or reject Him. Keep in mind, Abba chose the Israelites -
they had to obey His 10 commandments.
That wasn't working out to good, so Abba placed "partial
blinders" on them, as Paul writes:
[Romans 11:25 NKJV] "For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in."
We are blessed because of their ignorance. That's why Jesus was sent to take on our sins, redeeming us to make our own choice of where we spend ETERNITY! Now is the time, that even the Jews must make a choice to accept Jesus as their Messiah and come under the New Covenant. Many have come; you've heard of "Jews For Jesus" or the "Messianic Jews"? Those will be joining us in Heaven when Jesus comes for us in the rapture [or gathering away]. Now they, like us will not suffer the wrath of Abba. PTL! So bless Israel for the doors they've opened to us, Abba!
Finally here it is saying - DO NOT live in the past. As your forefathers did, you probably would do too. Don't blame them for your choices. It's not a family thing for Christians - Jesus gave us the right to individually chose who and what we'll follow.

[Matthew 23:33-35 NKJV] 33 "Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell? 34 "Therefore,
indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: [some] of them you will
kill and crucify, and [some] of them you will scourge in your synagogues and
persecute from city to city, 35 "that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the
earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of
Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar."
Do you remember why David would NEVER kill Saul? He said it was, because Abba told him, he was not kill His anointed.
[1 Samuel 24:5-6 NKJV] 5 "Now it happened afterward that David's heart troubled him because he had cut Saul's robe. 6 And he said to his men, "The LORD forbid that I should do this thing to my master, the LORD's anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, seeing he [is] the anointed of the LORD."
So David had to wait to claim his kingship and fight to stay alive, because Saul was continuously trying to kill David. Even today, it's not our responsibility to judge a minister.
[Matthew7:16 NKJV] "You will know them [Christians] by their
fruits. Do men gather
grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles?" WHAT FRUITS?
The fruit is His Spirit. To many Christians today, seek His Gifts first, instead of the Character of Abba through His Fruits. Developing the fruit of God first would better prepare them internally, to master being more like Jesus.
I'm not saying we should not go for the gifts, but seek His kingdom [Him] first and afterwards seek the gifts. To often it's like giving a child, a piece of steak causing them to choke on, when their teeth are not developed yet. Then he forever gives up chewing steak/Abba. So do what the Word says: seek His Kingdom first - then the rest will follow.
[Matthew6:33 NKJV] "But seek
first the kingdom of God and His
righteousness, and all these things shall
be added to you."
So after you sought Abba, you will see the gifts working stronger in your life. The Bible does say:
[John4:48 NKJV] "Then Jesus
said to him, "Unless you [people] see signs and wonders, you will by no
means believe."
Signs and wonders are are necessary, just as when all are sin is removed from us, as the LOVE OF CHRIST permeates our souls. The changes, in our lives reflect the light of Christ within us.
Based on verse 35, there's a limit to what God will allow - and we've passed it. The only way to change our earth is by one less sinner causing, the cup of sin to overflow.
[Matthew 23:36-39 NKJV] 36 "Assuredly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this
generation. 37 "O Do you remember why David would NEVER kill Saul? He said it was, because Abba told him, he was not kill His anointed.

Verse 36 is scary to me. We may not live in
Something we all should think about, are we movers and shakers for the Lord? Or are we a just sitting on our laurels going nowhere? Time is short - truly. Ask Abba what you should be doing, so you can complete what you've been called to do.
My prayer 4 U: Father,
in Jesus' Name I'm asking You to reveal, to Your Children, how to think
from Heaven's perspective, so they can release Heavenly
solutions in their lives, also helping others, TO NOT
TO LEAD with their head, but with the heart of JESUS! - In
Jesus' Name - AMEN! and AMEN!
Blessing
to ALL & Happy New Year to you and your families.
Sandy -
The Lord's Servant
