27 "On exactly the tenth day of this seventh month is the day of atonement; it shall be a holy convocation for you, and you shall humble your souls and present an offering by fire to the LORD.
28 "You shall not do any work on this same day, for it is a day of atonement, to make atonement on your behalf before the LORD your God.
29 "If there is any person who will not humble himself on this same day, he shall be cut off from his people.
30 "As for any person who does any work on this same day, that person I will destroy from among his people.
31 "You shall do no work at all. It is to be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places.
32 "It is to be a sabbath of complete rest to you, and you shall humble your souls; on the ninth of the month at evening, from evening until evening you shall keep your sabbath."
What is the purpose of Day of Atonement Based On The Scriptures Above?
To atone for something, you humble yourself by acknowledging the wrong you’ve done. For the Jew, it is to ask forgiveness for the 1 year of sins. If the Jews do not do this, they’re cut off from the Lord and their inheritance.
What are the Jews to do on this day?
They are to FAST, because this is a serious time, to consider their rebellion and let their spirit guide them in truth. They are to present an offering to the Lord, treat this day like a Sabbath day meaning no work, rest only. And humble themselves before the Lord.
What should we do as Christians?
Declare to the Lord a fast for Israel, on this Day of Atonement. Ask the Lord for forgiveness of their sins (John 20:23). Take communion for all Israel claiming what Jesus has offered to them in Isaiah 53:4-6 and that their eyes would be opened and their ears would hear. Stay in His Word this day. Maybe read the book of Esther who saved all Israel from extinction – because like Esther, how do you know you weren’t “called for a time such as this”? The book of Ruth would also be appropriate, since she turned to God when she had nothing left and because of her love of Naomi. The book of Ezra tells us how the Israelites went from lack of knowledge, to each step they took toward Jerusalem, learning His ways and repenting. There are so many Old Testament books to chose from – but take the time to dwell on what you’ve read and ask the Holy Spirit to tell you even more. Speak the blessings to Israel in Numbers 6:23-27. Keep in mind, those who bless Israel will be blessed (Genesis 12:3).
Numbers 6:23-27 (NASB)
23 "Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, ‘Thus you shall bless the sons of Israel. You shall say to them:
24 The LORD bless you, and keep you;
25 The LORD make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you;
26 The LORD lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace.’
27 "So they shall invoke My name on the sons of Israel, and I then will bless them."
Aaron was High Priest, his sons were priests, and the Lord has made us His priests. So what should we do?
SPEAK verses 24-26 to Israel. Why? Verse 27 says the Lord will bless us and we need all the blessings we can get in these coming days!
Before your fast, Read Isaiah 58
Whether a gathering or on your own, this should be a “Day of FASTING.” This is a day to humble ourselves before the Lord for Israel.
üDeclare the fast - for Israel’s revelation of what they need - to see Jesus.
üAsk the Holy Spirit for an abundance of wisdom which the Word says He’ll give to those who ask.
üBe continuously in the Word; go boldly to the Thrown Room in prayer.
üTake Communion and remember that the blood of Jesus redeemed and cleansed us. It’s also a good time to intercede for others (saved and unsaved) lifting them up to the Lord in their need.
üPut God In Remembrance of His word in Rom , which says, “…that God causes all things to work together to those who love God…” And we know that God loves the Jews and are definitely called according to His purpose.
üALLWAYS take the time to LISTEN (wait on Him), to what the Holy Spirit has to say and your understanding will increase, along with your knowledge and your daily walking with Him.
I pray that many Christians will join together in the unity of the Spirit as your fast and pray for Israel on this day, the Lord has declared, Israel to atone for their sins.
Remember our 2nd commandment from Jesus: Matthew 22:39"The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALLLOVEYOURNEIGHBORAS YOURSELF.”
Isaiah 57: 17-19 (NASB)
17 "Because of the iniquity of his unjust gain I was angry and struck him; I hid My face and was angry, And he went on turning away, in the way of his heart.
18 "I have seen his ways, butI will heal him; I will lead him and restore comfort to him and to his mourners,
19 Creating the praise of the lips. Peace, peace to him who is far and to him who is near," Says the LORD, "and I will heal him."
It takes your lips to speak “SHALOM, SHALOM” (or PEACE, PEACE) to Israel, for the Lord to heal them, lead them and restore their comfort.
May the Lord;bless you and keep you; make His face shine on you, be gracious to you; lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace.
This is a 4 part study, to reveal through the Word (NASB), that the Lord has given you the authority to overcome every situation.In Part 2, you’ll learn the overcoming power and authority you have over the demonic world – in Christ.
Please read the Scriptures, confirm what the Word says.It’s mandatory we have the knowledge to overcome our enemy; the Word is your weapon!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Romans 12:21
“Do not be overcome by evil,
but overcome evil with good.”
1 John 5:4
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world;
and this is the victory that has overcome the world
—our faith.”
What many Christians do not realize, is that WE HAVE been given the authority to overcome evil with good.It’s by faith in Jesus and His Word WE WILL overcome every situation that comes against us.
Jesus not only overcame our enemy, but He set us free IF we choose to be free (John ), which has always been a choice, each born-again Christian must make.
For any human who has not made the choice of where you’ll spend eternity, you should know 3 things:
1.Only Jesus fulfilled every prophecy about the coming Savior in the Bible (Isaiah 53:1-12).
2.It doesn’t matter how many translations there are, because when you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior – you receive the Holy Spirit, who teaches you.He gives you the knowledge, understanding and wisdom you need to apply the Bible principals for any circumstance in your life (1 John -29).
3.God searches the heart of man (Jeremiah ).Just saying a few words won’t cut it.Only those who abide in Him and bear fruit (John 15:1-8), will have the assurance of being “caught up” or raptured (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18), instead of going through the wrath of God on earth (Romans 5:9 & Revelation 6:12-17, 12:12, 14:10, 19, 15:1, 7, 16:1, 19, 19:15).
I say that, so those who don’t “abide”, which means to live with or follow, won’t be surprised when they’re left behind.Going to church on Sunday, but living in the world Monday – Saturday, is NOT abiding in Him.Only you can decide where your heart is (Matthew 3:7-10).I judge no one, but warn that this is one of the tricks the enemy uses, so you “think” you’re saved.The Word says you’ll know a Christian by their fruit (Matthew 7:15-20, Mark 4:10-20 & John 8:31-32).The fruit is not your good deeds in the natural, but the character of God developed within you (Galations -25).
For those that love the Lord, you must learn (John 14:26), practice (1 Timothy 4:7-11) and share ALL that Jesus has done for you (2 Timothy 2:24-26 & James 1:22-24).After all, a fruit tree does not eat its own fruit.It’s for others to enjoy.
So Let’s Start… Jesus Did, So We Could:
1.As the Son of God, He came to earth.His DNA was that of God and human (Luke -35). Note: Jesus represented the Father to us, as we’re to represent Jesus to others (John -17). It’s His DNA we receive when we’re born again.
2.He was without sin, so satan had no hold on Him (Hebrews 2:18). Note: Keep that in mind when you’re attacked – sin opens the door.You’re not expected to be perfect, but what you know is wrong, try and change (repent) if you know it to be unpleasing to the Lord (Matthew ).
3.He was tempted, but spoke the Word and promises of the Father, so there was nothing satan could offer to entice Him (Matthew 4:1-11). Note: The only way we can resist the devil so he will flee is to stay close to the Word (James 4:6-8) and know we have a better reward in heaven - for eternity.
4.He Loved ALL humans, before any ever accepted Him (John ). Note: Can we do any less for our enemies (Luke )?
5.He spoke in parables, so man could understand.Much like we teach our children (Matthew -13). Note: As we share our testimonies, of what the Lord has done, make it an option for them to try, because it worked for you (Revelation ), but it must be their choice. We are to lead people to the Living Waters, not force them to drink.
6.He revealed the Father’s Will in Heaven, to all mankind (John ). Note: After 400-450 years in Egypt (sin) the Israelites forgot God and His love for them.Same could be said for us today.While we walked in sin, we thought a good deed now and then made us a good person.But as we’ve all learned, the Father has so much more for us.His Salvation, fruits, gifts, promises of meeting every need we have – and so much more.Our Father wants it on earth AS it is in Heaven and it’s UP TO US to bring it down to earth (Colossians 3:13-23).
7.He had 70 men, practice the authority He’d given them, by casting out demons and healing the sick (Luke 10:1, 17-24). Note: As God relinquished the authority to Adam, so Jesus has relinquished it to us.It’s up to us to use it – He will only back us up, in His power to make sure it’s done.BUT WE must use the authority given to us – In Jesus’ Name!
8.Jesus gave His blood in 7 different ways to cover our sins; of the past, present and future. Note: Before The Cross He Bled… 1) When He was beaten by the Pharisees and Romans taking on the punishment of both, the believer and non-believer alike - for our sins (Mark 14:65 & John 19:3). 2) When the crown of thorns was placed on His head - for the renewing of our minds (John 19:2). 3) When He was whipped - for our healing (Matthew 27:26).
On The Cross He Bled…
4) When His left hand was nailed to the cross – to snare the wicked (Psalm ), also left and right hand refer to the north and south, meaning the whole world. 5) When His right hand was nailed, it symbolized; power, strength, honor and deliverance (Psalms 60:5). 6) When His feet were nailed to the cross, it covered our old path and the new one available to us (Proverbs 3:6, Hebrews 12:12-13).
After His Death He Bled… 7) When they pierced Him under the rib (John ) – it was for future generations, for it’s the area of a womb. There is more detail to this, in Chapter 11 of God’s Power Available To Us.
9.He gave the final sacrifice with his life, that we might live (1 Timothy ). Note: Through His death, he rendered satan powerless (Hebrews 2:14).Just goes to show you, although the twerp knows the Word – he doesn’t always understand it - until we speak it!
10.He restored everything satan stole from Adam & Eve (Genesis 1:26). Note: Now, by faith, in His name, we have the same authority (1 John 5:4).But please be careful here, we have authority over our circumstances, but only Jesus has authority over man. We'll discuss this more in Part 3 - Our Weapons.
11.Jesus restored us to God.Salvation gives us; grace which is underserved favor, and mercy which is underserved forgiveness, but we also receive unconditional love, with an open door to eternal life with Christ (Ephesians 3:1-12). Note: The blessings are the abundant life (John ) and those come as we “abide” in Him.For every promise in the OT and NT has a condition (action) we must do to receive it.We’ll cover many conditions in Part 4 of this series.
12.We receive the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:7-8) Note: The Holy Spirit is our Helper. He will distribute the gifts of the Spirit as we need (Hebrews 2:4).He will guide us.He will bring to remembrance what we need to know (John -14).He is the unseen power that clothes us every day (Luke 24:29).
John 14:12
"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me,
the works that I do, he will do also;
and greater works than these he will do;
because I go to the Father.
The Foundation Of Our Power:
üSalvation – Knowing our rights as inheritors with Jesus.
üBlood Of Christ – The power we have to overcome satan’s authority.
üHoly Spirit – Our helper who’s always with us to; teach, guide and comfort us.
With these 3 foundational truths, you can walk daily in an “abundant life”, no matter what weapon is formed against you (Matthew 28:18).
John 16:33
"These things I have spoken to you,
so that in Me you may have peace.
In the world you have tribulation, but take courage;
I have overcome the world."
Watch for Part 3 –Your Weapons.They’re not bombs or guns, but a force so powerful, it affects the spiritual realm and how it manifests in the natural!
Oh, how I wish to bless you, in all areas you could possibly need.
Come to Me. Plead your cause - ask for what you need, nothing doubting. Do not doubt, trust that nothing is impossible for your God!
Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Today, many are fearful due to their finances and our economy, yet we’re told FEAR NOT, if we’re walking in the Lord. Believing what you see is causing your fear, but believing YOU ARE a child of the Almighty God with His unconditional love, removes that fear. Knowing His Word will also change your circumstances, which is the goal of this study.
This 4 part study will reveal, through the Word (NASB), that the Lord has given you the authority to overcome every situation. In Part 1, you’ll see the little authority our enemy has and his purpose.
Please read the Scriptures, confirm what the Word says. It’s mandatory we have the knowledge to overcome our enemy; for the Word is your weapon!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We all know the story of Adam and Eve in Genesis Chapters 2 & 3, how perfectly they lived in the Garden of Eden. God’s original plan was to fellowship with man. Literally to see and walk with Him forever, as we will in the end - PTL!
Adam & Eve had ALL authority on earth to multiply, fill, subdue and “rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” (Genesis ). Personally, I’m glad for the authority over those “creeping things” I bind them from inside my home and they leave! Anyway, having all authority over everything God created, with the exception of ONE NO-NO – DO NOT EAT FROM THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE (Genesis ).
How easy it was for them, compared to us. The twerp (satan) had NO authority over man until they disobeyed God. That started his power here on earth.
So we’re going to start this study by seeing what authority the twerp has over humans.
Power of satan:
His first attack was to STEAL all authority from Adam and Eve. He did it through lies and twisting the Words of God, justifying Eve’s desire (of the flesh) to taste that forbidden fruit and Adam’s desire (of his soul) to remain with Eve. We cannot justify their act, but I would remind you; they had never been tempted, were never lied to before and knew no other existence.
That one sin, gave satan all the power and authority Adam had. So for thousands of years he multiplied his power through man by; holding them captive, putting yokes of bondage on them, tempting them with the pleasures of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21). Whatever he offered, made him seem like a god to them, but was temporary, because it only lasted while they lived. Their eternal soul after that belonged to him.
Throughout the Bible and history books, we see the evil and corruption satan worked through man, perverting the goodness of what God had created. But he has a major problem, HE CANNOT create! He can only pervert what God has created – and that includes mankind.
His second problem, HE CANNOT prevent God from interfering with his plans. We see this when God had Noah, Moses and David birthed. These men were strong in the Lord. Yes they were human, yes they weren’t perfect, BUT…their hearts belonged to God. They were pre-ordained in their mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-16, 24), to do the works of God on earth – and they, along with many others, threw a wrench in the works of satan, keeping righteousness alive.
satan might have had the authority here on earth, but God had authority in heaven that he couldn’t touch. Yet when a human chooses God over him, it gives God the access He needs to do mighty works on earth. So truly, greater is He who is in us, then he that is in the world (1 John 4:4) – since time began!
His third problem, God created a way, where there was no way (1 Corinthians ). satan knew there was a son of God, but I doubt he ever thought a spiritual body could be born in the womb, after all he could only possess a human, not be born in one.
Limitations of satan:
Before Christ:
1.He could only work through humans. (Matthew 8:16, Mark )
2.God was able to interfere with His plan. (Luke 1:39-44)
3.His authority was not on God’s people. (Job 1:6-12)
After Christ:
4.Jesus has all power and authority over the earth. (Matthew 28:10)
5.Jesus gave all authority to us over satan– in His Name. (Mark -18, Luke 10:19)
6.We’re protected by the Blood of Jesus. (Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:19-23)
7.God sent His Holy Spirit to teach us what knowledge we’d need to overcome all the trials satan throws at us. (Mark , 1 John 2:27)
Always keep in mind; the devil knows the Word, in fact better than most Christians. That’s one of his ways, since the time of Eve, to steal the Word and stop humans from learning what authority they have over him today. Would you like others to know you have an OFF switch?
1 Peter 5:8
“Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary,
the devil, prowls around like a roaringlion,
seeking someone to devour.”
satan is just a “little twerp” making lots of noise (roaring), but he’s toothless IF you know your enemy and what he’s allowed to do.
Watch for Part 2 – Our Power in Christ. The worst is over when you learn your power and authority over the enemy!
NOTE:
You can get more in-depth information in Chapters 6, 7, 9 and 10 of “God’s Power Available To Us”.
Also, I’m sure you noticed the “s” in satan is never capitalized – that’s intentional. I refuse to give him anything that makes him stand out! He’s a “little twerp” nothing more!
May our Lord bless you with all the wisdom you’ll need in the days to come.

I [meaning the church or Body of Christ] was standing by Jesus, as He was sitting on His white horse and He said to me, tell them I am coming. Tell them I am coming, TELL THEM I AM COMING, His horse was wanting to run real, real bad.
I do know HE IS coming very soon, so draw very close to HIM and tell everyone HE is coming SOON!

MY People,
Let the worldly fret, moan and groan. This is not your job or your legacy! YOU ARE joint heirs with Christ.
Your job is to rejoice in Jesus and rest in peace, in Him, no matter what is happening. Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, rejoice. (Philippians 4:4)

I was praying late one evening as all were asleep. When Jesus came and said to me, "Come, I have something to show you". Next thing I knew, I was standing at the end of a table, that went as far as I could see.
The table was set and it was the most elegant table I have ever seen. The linen table cloth was white, yet gold, yet white. The dishes were gold, yet white, yet gold. And there were golden goblets. The utensils were not silver or gold and I couldn't tell you the color. There was fruit on the table. It was big and nothing I have ever seen before, but I could tell it was the sweetest and juiciest ever.
There were people running around, putting the finishing touches on the table. I personally couldn't see where there was any need for improvement. Jesus was telling me how everything had to be perfect, when this lady with short curly hair was running past and paused long enough to say, "Hi Joy" then she was gone. This woman was so beautiful, I can say I have never seen such beauty. I turned to Jesus and said, "She new my nickname". He answered with "of course". Then I was back in my chair again.
Two weeks later, I was watching a popular preacher on TV, when He was telling his guest about the last time he was in Israel and someone had sent him a basket of fruit. He said, "it was the biggest and juiciest fruit he has ever had and he wasn't even sure what kind of fruit it was". That's confirmation!
I still think about the woman and who she could have been and why Jesus said, "of course" when I was so surprised she new my name. I can still see her in my minds eye. I know Jesus is coming soon to get His bride. The table is set and the final touches are done.
Now I believe it's up to us to tell ALL, that Jesus loves them and He has gone and prepared a place and a feast for us, His bride.
