     Do not bounce to and fro looking for easy messages to cover your sins.  The world is coming up with excuses and way to clear their guilt.  Anything but the truth seems to be acceptable for the days.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The DEVIL LIES, - Being called a “Jesus Freak” or “being one of those” is good, not bad!  Truthfully, who needs man to follow when you have a GOD like ours?  Why worry about what man says, when God proves Himself continually to you and the non-believer.  If we’ll make the choice to follow God as Ezra did, we’ll see the same results that he and Elijah had - “And Elijah came to all the people, and said, "How long will you falter between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." But the people answered him not a word (I Kings 18:21).  So get past the hurt feelings from name calling.  It only PROVES you’re on the right track, if the enemy is against you!  PTL - Bring it ON!

Ezra 7:12 - King Artaxerxes issues a decree to his people in Judah and Jerusalem telling them:

1)  The king and his people are to FREELY offer (not a loan) silver and gold to the Jews. 

2)  Get a FREE WILL offering of money from the people.  Plus (verse 20) on occasion, as needed the king would give money from his treasury.

3)  WHATEVER Ezra may require of the people - do it with ZEAL (verse 23).  Why?  So God’s wrath won’t come upon the Persians.  That sure sounds like “… the wealth of sinners is laid up for the just” (Proverbs 13:22).

4)  NO TAX or tribute or toll is to be against any priest or servant of the House of God.

5)  Ezra, according to the “wisdom of God” is to set-up a LEGAL SYSTEM for the province and teach all God’s ways.  Then JUDGE those who do not follow them, even unto death (verse 25-26).

Tired of “Just Enough”?

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

It’s our choice.  YES, He saved you.  BUT does your life glorify Him?  Do YOU enrich His life or others?  Have YOU learned who your friends are?  Why take a bite of the apple when you can have the whole enchilada? 

Ezra 9:12 tells us to NEVER seek their peace or prosperity.  Why?  So you may be strong and eat of the good things.  Sounds reasonable to me!  When we seek peace or prosperity from the world, I guarantee it is a shallow victory.  The world can and will take it away from you.  You will not have that calmness or peace that surpasses all understanding that Philippians 4:7 talks about.  How can you, when the world is based on impurity.  A perfect example of this is when you buy that brand new, shinny car that makes you so proud - BUT 10 years down the road - after you’ve paid the cost of $25-30,000 off - you end up with a “rust bucket” that you are now ashamed of.  It’s the world’s way - cost too much and doesn’t last.  The world’s way cause STRESS and ANXIETY - always trying to get there, then hoping we can stay - all this does is cause disease (rust) and early death. 

GOD’s WAY needs to become OUR WAY!  It’s soooo much easier!  “Beloved (that’s you) I (that’s God) desire above ALL THINGS that you prosper and be in health (what our life should be) even (how) as your soul prospers.” (3 John 1:2).  God doesn’t want spoiled brats, He wants disciplined children to have His best and He’ll give it to you (HIS PROMISE, not mine) if you’ll learn from Him (HIS CONDITION). 

As you learn from God, He eliminates the impurities in your life.  He will get rid of the “bad habits” you have.  He doesn’t want you to take them with you as the Israelites did.  Ezra made the commitment (7:10) to:

1) STUDY the Law - for us, it’s read the Bible (I Timothy 4:15).

2) PRACTICE it - for us, DO what the Word says (James 1:22).

3) TEACH His way- for us; tell others what God is doing.  We need to talk more about what GOD’s done in our life (2 Timothy 1:6) then the damage the devil’s done - AMEN!
